New business opportunities for Danish companies
The UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative is a national drive to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, making the Emirates the first Middle East and North Africa (MENA) nation to do so. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) leads and coordinates efforts to execute the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative and ensure collaboration at national level to fulfil this objective. Stakeholders in key sectors, such as energy, economy, industry, infrastructure, transport, waste, agriculture, and the environment, will update relevant plans, strategies, and policies, and implement initiatives and projects to achieve net zero by 2050 in line with their needs and growth requirements.
Federal and local government authorities are responsible for preparing comprehensive studies and developing plans that introduce the measures necessary to reduce emissions while also ensuring economic growth.
The ADNOC energy group, wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government, operates across the energy value chain, and aims at meeting the demands of an ever-changing energy market. ADNOC is taking significant steps to make today’s energy cleaner while investing in the clean energies of tomorrow. They have allocated an initial $23 billion to advance and accelerate lower-carbon solutions, investing in new energies and decarbonization technologies to enable their net zero by 2045 ambition.
MASDAR is a leading developer and operator of utility-scale renewable energy projects, community grid projects, and energy services. The purpose of the organization is to provide affordable clean energy to the world for a more sustainable future.
